Bright Beginnings
Bright Beginnings is an early childhood initiative by the United Way of Wells County aimed at ensuring all children are prepared to enter kindergarten. The program encompasses several key components:
Bookends: Bookends provides free books to children, encouraging a love of reading and supporting early literacy development.
Kindergarten Countdown: Kindergarten Countdown is a four-week program that helps children develop essential skills and confidence before starting kindergarten.
Imagination Library: Imagination Library delivers free, age-appropriate books monthly to children from birth to age five, fostering a foundation for lifelong learning.
Power of the Purse
The Power of the Purse is an annual fundraising event organized by the United Way of Wells County to support early childhood development programs. The event features a raffle of purse packages, including a special “Power Purse.” Proceeds support programs like Bookends, Kindergarten Countdown, and the Imagination Library.
