The United Way of Wells County recently collaborated with Community Care of Northeast Indiana (CCNEI) and Grace and Mercy Transitional Housing to support local women and children in need through the donation of “Bedtime Boxes.” These thoughtful boxes are designed to help families establish calming bedtime routines and provide some basic necessities. Each box contains toiletries, a blanket, a stuffed animal, a few books, and a bedtime routine guide, offering comfort and support for families in transition.
This initiative is focused on providing more than just physical items; it emphasizes the importance of a peaceful bedtime routine, which plays a crucial role in a child’s well-being. By including reminders to “brush your teeth” and “read a story,” the boxes help children develop healthy habits that can positively impact their growth and learning. The stuffed animals and books offer additional comfort, ensuring that bedtime can be a special and soothing time for the children during this challenging period of transition.
The United Way of Wells County is deeply grateful to its community partners, like CCNEI and Grace and Mercy Transitional Housing, for their ongoing work in supporting vulnerable populations. These organizations provide essential services to families facing difficult circumstances, and their dedication is instrumental in helping the community thrive. Together, these collaborations ensure that families have access to the resources and support they need to rebuild their lives.
Through partnerships like these, United Way continues to make a positive impact in Wells County. The Bedtime Boxes are a small but meaningful way to bring a sense of normalcy and care to families in transition, demonstrating the power of community support in creating lasting change.
